Even today in Seattle, LGBTQ people needing legal assistance face discrimination and a lukewarm response from many lawyers.  I have been openly gay my entire adult live, even while living in Oklahoma and practicing in Texas.  I know firsthand the discrimination and difficulties LGBTQ people face when seeking professional services.
